I like what you said about checking tasks off a list. It is good to have other things to do besides eat. Not sure if you are a stay at home mom or not but I am, and there are about 100 times per day where I am like, "what's in the fridge?" It is dangerous, but keeping busy with chores, hobbies, and obviously the baby helps so much. Good luck!! You are doing awesome.
