So after I finished my first diet bet I was like "yasss I'm gonna do another one and lose even more weight!!"
Well then November happened. And my parents visited me for 8 days in Australia. So I ate freaking everything for eight days. And then I went to my friend's going away party that involved a lot of desserts the following week. And then the next week It was my host mom's birthday so there were cupcakes galore. And then the next week was my birthday AND Thanksgiving.
Oops.
Treat yoself turned into treat yoself for a month.
Anyways, I gained weight. Initially when I stepped on the scale the day after our belated Thanksgiving I was shooooooocked. But then two days later I was down 3 pounds. So I think it was a lot of bloating/water weight/salt/whatever.
I'm still up four pounds from where I was at the end of the last diet bet (womp womp) but it's not the end of the world.
I've been going to the gym a lot and strength training. I just wasn't doing cardio and I wasn't eating healthy.
Since Monday I've turned that around. I've been making sure to do HIIT cardio at the gym on the days I don't go to Zumba (I freaking LOVE zumba) and I've been turning all my strength training workouts into a series of supersets so I'm not spending more than an hour at the gym. And I do my HIIT cardio between supersets.
I've seen gains in my arms even though they're still flabbier than what is ideal for me. Now I'm just working on getting back down 5 or 6 pounds and gaining muscle whilst doing that.
I also bought measuring tape so I can measure progress that way, not just by the number on the scale.
I think a new rule for myself is I'm not allowed to buy candy. Cos if I buy candy I will eat all of it. Right away. And I buy a lot at one time, haha.
