So, here we are again. New year, new goals....Will I be able to stick with it this time???? Hopefully!
As per usual, I have new ideas, done all sorts of extra research, ready to try all new and old things (AGAIN!). Joined Adriene in a #30daysofyoga, which I really enjoy.
PLAN:
1. Move more! As always I promise to move more and do this and that, but somehow I can only manage to stick with it for only maybe a week. So here the DietBet comes in, to hold me countable, if I want to win my money back, which of course everyone does. So fingers crossed :)
2. Not eat processed SUGAR! Sugar really is the enemy here. And I know this, it is like a legal drug, like cocoane. It really is! How do you feel when you eat sugar? It's like bliss (as is when you take drugs). If you can't have sugar, you CRAVE it, you WANT it and would do almost anything to get it.....LIKE A DRUG ADDICT!!! And processed sugar does NOTHING for you, except get you "high" for a moment and then you come crashing down wanting more!
Ok, so there are a lot of sugary foods, that are obvious, that they have sugar in them....Like sweets, chocolate, ice cream, jam, cookies, cake and so on..... But did you know that MOST foods actually have added sugar in them?!?!??! Even foods that you would NEVER expect that these would have added sugar in them, like Cheese Puffs. The ones I have, have 9.2g of sugar in 100g of product that's around 2 tsp!!!
So what I want to look at and eventually achieve is that I will not eat any foods that have added sugars in them MORE than 5g in 100g, so max 5%. I will still eat naturally occuring sugars, like fruits. I will not denie that to myself, but I will try to eat them eary in the day so I have time to burn them off.
Goosh, I could rant all day about how unhealthy sugar is. And even though I KNOW this, I still find it MEGA hard NOT to eat cakes and sweets!!! Last year I went sugar free for a bit, the beginning was HARD, it really was. BUT as soon as the 3rd week was over it was a breeze. I think you just have to stick with it and get over the "hump" and then after that it is really easy, I promise.
I have a problem, I can't stick with something. Like gym or a diet plan, I get bored :( and want to move on to something more fun and new and exciting. So I really have to train myself to "stick" to stuff. I am really counting on the support of the dietbet community and hopefully I can find someone to do things with and motivate each other, even if it is through the internet and apps.
I wish everyone all the success, and I really hope EVERYONE reaches their goals and wins!!! Lots of huggs to you all and best of luck!!!!
Hedi :)
