I did a pretty hard hike yesterday. It started raining half way through. This morning the clouds were dark, and I didn't feel like going to the gym.

When I was 18 I got in a skiing accident. It was pretty bad. Completely blew out my knee. It was so bad they had to take muscles out of thigh to replace tendons. I had a great doctor, and had no problems with it until a couple of years ago. After I healed up from that accident, I stayed pretty acitve. I've always been a high energy person. Two years ago I started developing Osteoarthritis. I love hiking. Slowly, the length of my hikes shortened. My husband and I had a rountine of going on long challenging hikes and then go out to dinner. It seemed like the hikes dropped off and dinners increased. My age also is effecting my weight gain, but lots of it has to do with loosing my strength due to me knee.

In my 20's I had a great yoga instructor. Her classes started getting so packed I stopped going. I found other activities. Before my knee replacement I tried doing yoga again. It helped a bit. Now that I am recovering, I tried yoga again this morning. It was difficult. I can tell I need to stretch more. I'm on the fence as to wether or not I really need to be doing yoga, but I know I need to stretch.

There is a website called, "Do Yoga With Me." The first beginning one I tried this morning was to hard. The second one was better. I need a blanket to help under my knees.  I'm going to keep trying, but only in the privacy of my own home.

I can feel my body strength returning. Today I feel empowered, and calm.
