After years of either losing weight or maintaining, I've come to realize eating healthy and working out always gets easier the longer you do it. I've been on track for a little over a week and it was REALLY tough at first, but every day I've found myself having to fight urges less and actually being excited to work out.
I think the hardest part of weight loss is the patience and consistency that it takes. I lost 90 pounds and it was really hard sometimes because I would hit plateaus for awhile, and I would feel so impatient about reaching my ultimate goal that I wanted to just give up and go back to the way things were. Luckily, I was very determined and pushed through. It always took refreshing my routine, new meal tricks like carb cycling, or a new work out routine. This time I am determined to be patient and consistent even if the scale doesn't cooperate for a week or so.
I also wanted to comment on the picture I attaced to this blog. One of the reasons I really love DietBet is because I'm not competing against anyone but myself. I feel like it creates a more positive, supportive environment. I just want to get my original money back and lose weight, I don't necessarily want to beat everyone else's weight loss numbers. I think The Biggest Loser should do something similar. I think everyone should be able to make it to the end and keep working out with trainers. I would love to see everyone on the show get to their goal weight, whether or not they win the big prize!
I hope everyone has a healthy, active, productive weekend! Keep working hard and don't let the weekend get you off track!
