I think it's huge to acknowledge being in a bad mood and not wanting to affect your journal post in a negative way or your readers.I've never thought about mindfulness when eating but I have used this practice to help me sleep (it works). My mind defiantly wanders as I'm eating or I'm doing the other things you mentioned. I really want to put mindful eating into place at work. I don't usually leave my office for lunch but I've been trying to make my lunchtime a true moment during the day when I stop everything and just enjoy my lunch. Sounds like I'm on the path of mindful eating.
