Tonight I had the opportunity to test my will power - eating out with a girlfriend at a place I love to go. Normally I would get one of their wonderful concoctions including homemade sauces, rich dressings & mashed potatoes. But seeing as how this is day 3 of a 28 day challenge I had to decide..... stay on plan or "cheat" for dinner. 

I took my walk before dinner and had one of the best walks since the surgery and it was while walking that I decided I would stay with my plan & have 1 glass of wine with dinner. 

So tonight I had Rosemary Garlic Chicken breast with roasted carrots - skipped the best mash potatoes in town and had a side salad with balsamic vinaigrette dressing of which I only used 1/3. Three glasses of water (~30 oz total)and one 6 oz glass of white wine that I savored through the meal. And guess what - I feel great. I explained to my friend and she was interested in the challenge & supportive through the meal. No bread Pre-meal. No dessert post-meal but a lovely 2 hour conversation with a great friend. 

Came home - prepped veggies & water for tomorrow. Going with Lime & Ginger water tomorrow. Tracked food and decided to post both as accountability and as a way to remind myself later in the challenge that I made good decisions today so I can replicate that moving forward.
