Happy Sunday Diet Bet Nation! I hope everyone had a peacful end to the weekend.
This is going to be a short reflection, because I need to return to homework! It never ends!
As I've said in a previous blog, my mom and I are very close and when I was talking to her on the phone today she asked why I wanted to lose weight, because she saw me over Christmas and thought I looked really great. I guess one of the perks about being 6 feet tall is that you can gain 10-15 pounds, still be able to squeeze into the same sized clothes, and your mom will not notice that you've gained weight! :)
I've been reflecting on my Mom's question and this journey and I've realized that the reason I wanted to lose weight and more importantly live a healthier life style is because I am selfish! I am not on this journey for my husband, for socity or my peers. It is because I want to feel better and no longer feel weighed down by my body. I want to wear my clothes and not squeeze into them, and most importantly I want to be present in my life by caring about what I eat and how active my day is! I am putting in this hard work, and I am going to benefit from it!
I encourage you to reflect on why you want to lose weight and live a healthier life style. It definitely puts your jounrey into perspective, and will motivate you when you are feeling discouraged.
On a side note, my husband asked last night, "Could we make the Chocolate Shakeology Pie again?" On the drive to the store to pick the tofu for the pie I asked him, "Do you want to make this pie because you like it, or because you know I can enjoy it with you?" His response - "Both!" :)
When your alarm goes off tomorrow morning, I challenge you to cartwheel kick out of your bed! It will be an amazing way to start the last week of the diet bet!
Onwards Diet Bet Nation!
