I cut my first diet bet too close for comfort with a 1/2 lb. to go on my last day! I was hoping to stay a little bit ahead so I could be smooth sailing. So last night I decided to install one of the calorie counter apps to my phone and record my food intake and wow am I glad I did!
The app I have lets you scan food labels and it calculates the calories. Very convenient! I used the app to navigate the last hours of my dietbet and it worked! I went under my calories for the day and added a little more activity. I can see how this will help me keep ahead of the game and have a more accurate accounting of my daily needs.
I didn't realize the salad dressing I am using had so many calories! So I measured it out in tablespoons so I could more accurately gauge the amount I used. I also tracked the calories of my last treat of the day-a handful of sunflowers seeds in the shell. By cutting down just a littel bit on the portion size, I am going to get to my goal I just know it!
I was challenged yesterday by chocolate cake! I was going to have some and calculated it in to my calories (570!!!!). But after further consideration, I didn't want to cut out the healthy calories! So I passed on the cake and had a few strawberries instead. And this moring I came in right on the nose of my DB weight goal. Wheew, that was a close one!
Going to continue to use this app to get a little ahead of the game and stay true north towards my goal.
