I’ve been catching myself with mindless eating and saying out loud how I feel and it helps a lot.

“I don’t want this. It’s chopped up cold pizza that my kid didn’t finish. I’m not a garbage disposal.”

“ I didn’t put this on a plate and choose to have it, it’s an old half eaten muffin that has been sitting out all morning-so why eat it?”

“I didn’t plan to have hot chocolate in the evening so even though my family is running into the QT, I can say no thank you and stay on track”

I have trouble wasting food also! But learning to stop when I’m full and fretting less about not cleaning my plate.
