Hey all. Feeling frustrated. Tried the not tracking and have not lost anything. I am tracking for the rest of the game to make sure I hit my goal and then getting in contact with a nutritionist after the game. I’ve been overweight all my life and I’m wondering if it’s just one of those things that I have to do for my body. Hopefully by next week I’ll be able to give you guys a good update!

Tracking is key for me. I use the free version of My Fitness Pal and have stayed close to my allotted calorie goal each day and I also aim to get at least 100 g of protein per day. I’ve lost 4 lbs and am happy with slow weight loss.

Anyone else out there who is a volume eater? I would be open to low call, high volume yummy suggestions. Bonus if they're pretty easy to create. The latest thing I've made and loved, was a Butternut squash onion soup. I made it up, no recipe 😋

This is probably different than what most people think but I think of volume in terms of oh dang that's so heavy (weight/nutrients) my poor body is going to have to work so hard to process/digest that so I will go more towards liquids -water, broth, protein shake for example for volume first instead of solids and then focus on lower carb fiber veg/fruit (mostly veg or berry) protein, and some healthy fat.

  • This is why I always fail - I’ve been tracking my calories and protein and carbs since January 1st. Getting 10,000 steps, playing Just Dance (it’s what I can do to move my body with kids). Going to sleep when my kids do to get enough rest.

    Well, I woke up today sooo hungry and so excited to weigh in… I gained 2lbs 😑 Makes me want to jump off the wagon today and just eat what I want. Trying to power through 😭

Everyone is different. Eat less carbs..no fast food less food perhaps. It could be hormones. Etc.. just try different healthy options and exercises. Please, don’t give up…

  • More carbs than I’d like to eat at a dinner meal for trying to lose weight, but it’s our standard Sunday dinner and I’m not messing with a good thing.
    Roasted chicken, leaves and olives, baked potato with the carrots and onions that cooked under the chickens.

I would encourage you to go ahead and do a progress weigh in. I weighed this morning and found that I have already lost enough water weight to put me below my DietBet goal. Thankfully, customer service was able to reset my initial weigh in for me to weigh again. I was scared to keep it where it was because if you lose 12%, you are disqualified. Happy New Year everyone. We got this!!

Wow I didn’t know that because my weigh-in weight was definitely inflated from the holiday and NYE! I’m “down” 5lbs already even tho I’m obviously not.

You can't lose more than 12%, why do they limit you when it's about diet and your own 4%, if you lose 4 or 30, who cares, it doesn't get you anymore return, why would dietbet care.

  • Nice to meet you guys!

    Just returned from 3 weeks in japan. Total loss of control eating wise. And now in back in Denmark, but my kids jetlag are rough! Its hard not to eat when you are up in the middle of the might.
    Otherwise, i spend on swimming 1000-1500 meters every other day, and walk alot!

That’s exactly how I felt! I was 195 and felt like I had so much to lose. Now I’m 265 and dream of being back in the 100’s! Nows the time we’re dedicating ourselves back to the goal!!
