05/29/2014 8:41AMSaw your post on your monthly. I too started Monday same day I also flew. I gained 5lbs! (Gotta love flying). But....you can work with it. I worked our hard, drank lemon water once a day (natural diuretic) kept my carbs to oatmeal in the am, and just fruits and vegetables for my carbs (no breads) and kept my sodium WAY down. And drank more than a gallon of water. Your body retains water during this time because it's starving for more water to prep for your monthly. So keeping foods high In water based, and drinking tons of water actually helps flush out water weight gain. (I know. Sound counter intuitive). I also hit the sauna after a workout at the gym. But only do that if you are hydrating yourself as well. I did all of this and I lost the water weight gain just in time for the weigh in yesterday, still weighed the same as yesterday today, feel great, and still have my monthly. So don't say you failed. Just thought I would share in case you run into this again.
