Part of this journey is acknowledging bad habits, and then learning the right habits. You know stress makes you want to eat bad food, so now you have to address the change that needs to occur so you don't deal with stress that way going forward. I am sorry your preschool enrollment was stressful and embarrassing, that should have been an exciting time and I don't know what happened, but hopefully everything is ok. Admitting what you ate is a good first step to killing off your bad habits and starting new healthy ones. It takes baby steps, but it does come. Good luck and don't give up. This is a marathon to health, not a sprint.
