Congrats Laura on your recent weight loss!! You're rockin it! Whoo HOOO!

Just to let you know, I'm hosting a new diet bet, "Fatty No More," which begins after Labor Day on Friday, Sept. 6. The bet is only $20. The weigh in dates are Sept. 4,5 and 6. The game ends on Friday, Oct. 4.

The last diet bet I hosted, 90% ended up making their weight loss goal. We have a motivated group of passionate "losers" who are already having a great time sharing and connecting. Would love to have you join us. Check it out! http://www.dietbetter.com/games/19012

One of the things I have changed is I stopped paying kids to mow my yard and broke down and bought a used lawn mower with a bagger. It took me a lot of breaks and 2 days to mow my yard but I lost weight doing it.

I too have been diagnosed with diabetes and am having to learn a whole new lifestyle. It there are local free health classes in the area take them!!! I have had more encouragement and obtained some awesome recipes this way. I have attended 4 such classes with endocrinologist, health and wellness agencies and other type offerings. It is very inspirational to me. I also started after my lung transplant to do commit to ten minutes a day of ACTIVE activity. If you try to do too much too fast you will hate it. So start slow...and just do it. I use my couch potato time now to mindlessly lift handweights, or slowly lift my feet from the floor to knee level, hold for a few seconds and then slowly lower them back to the floor. Start easy and increase with time.

On New Years I had made a resolution to be below 200 pounds by the end of this year. If I start winning I will make it. My ultimate goal it to be below 170 by the end of next year.
