Hi Leslie Z. I read your post and I am curious what glycogen is. Sometimes I will drop a couple of pounds in a day and I figure I am just dehydrated. I drink my water and for the most part the scale will bounce back to reality. I have been participating in dietbet games for 3 months now and love learning new things about my body and how it works! As far as incorporating weights with exercise goes I think I will have to start next round because my weight lose is slowing down. I hope it works for the both of us :)

Hi ! glycogen is how carbs are stored in your liver and muscles for your body to use. it's also the reason why people think that atkins type low carb diets are effective, the majority of the weight loss (almost all of the initial) is just your glycogen stores and water weight which is about 7 lbs in most healthy people) here's a link to a wikipedia article that goes into more depth. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glycogen
this is why high quality whole food carbs (greens, squashes, vegetables, fruits, sweet potato ect) are so important for your organs. though since your liver can only hold about 200g at a time this is also why portions are important with the denser types like beans and quinoia, ect.
