I did a 1.25 hour workout last night. About half was pure cardio and the other half weights.

I was concerned I wouldn't have enough energy to complete the workout due to calorie restriction. So I ate dinner (chicken salad from Chipotle) about 30 minutes before and did fine.

Normally the next day I get really hungry and tired and  I eat a lot to compensate and make me feel better. Today however I'm sticking to the same routine. I'll find something light at Trader Joe's, eat fruit when I feel the sugar level drop.

I've seen others concerned about weight training and trying to lose weight. Not worried about that at this point. Yes if you gain muscle you are gaining weight. I don't think I'll gain more than a pound of week of muscle. This means I would have to lose an additional 4 pounds of fat to make my bet. On the other hand it takes a lot of energy to build muscle. And having more lean muscle increases metabolism since muscle requires more calories to maintain than fat. So I'll stick with the weights for another week and I'll see how it goes.
