Stagnation!

I feel you! It's totally frustrating to not see the numbers on the scale move when you feel like you're doing everything right. It sucks! But hang in there. Also, you're right, water retention and muscle growth could very well be why the numbers aren't going down. (Carbs/sugars absorb more water than protein does, for example. So, when I have higher carb days, my weight goes up; when I have lower carb days, my weight goes down.) Also, you're getting stronger and more conditioned, which is great! But that also means you have to lift heavier weights or do more intense workouts to achieve the same caloric burn you once did. But yes, it sucks that it's so hard to lose versus gaining. If only, we could lose via osmosis and watching exercise DVDs. Ha!

I've been trying to up my protein intake, but the carbs/water theory is interesting and there might be something to that. Thanks for your support!
