I am trying new things again. Hearts of Palm is not bad. Texture similar to cooked asparagus and the flavor is a bit sour. Eaten cold so far by itself, may try it in a salad. The coconut oil is beginning to be a staple in our home. I like the flavor. It is better than vegetable shortening for greasing pans, frying and in recipes. :D Today I celebrate with a reduced sugar oatmeal cookie recipe for the family. It uses applesauce instead of oil and raisins make up for lost sugar sweetness. I am open to more food suggestions, even exotics!
