Warning... I am stepping strongly onto MY soapbox now...

Today I will challenge everyone who is "stuck" and not using any kind of app to track their food to enter everything (and yes I mean EVERY THING) they eat for 3 days into any one of the plethora of food apps out there.  I currently choose to use MyFitnessPal.   Heck, just put yesterday's in there and look at the total nutritional levels.

I , personally, need an application to help me plan a balanced and healthy diet.  Food is fuel and I need to make sure my body is prepared for the challenges I am putting it up against now.  

  • Am I making the choices that will give me sustained energy for my workouts and healthy proteins to rebuild my muscles?
  • Am I watching my sodium levels?
  • That fruit I choose, how much sugar am I actually eating???
  • Am I opting for healthy fats (our bodies need healthy fats) - not fats full of cholesterol?
  • Am I getting the fiber I need to feel full and help me eliminate waste from my system?
  • I know I am drinking enough water to keep well hydrated, keep my skin looking good, help my kidney's function, and energize my muscles, (etc...etc...etc...) - are you???
  • And am I choosing foods (and a few supplements) that provide the vitamins and minerals my body requires?

I also challenge you to read the labels of everything you consume.  Please avoid highly processed foods and if you can't pronounce the ingredients or picture where they come from - maybe you want to make a different choice - just sayin'...

Time to go move my buns now - too much time on the computer was one of my previous anti-health issues I am overcoming.
