I have been buying and selling things on eBay since sometime in the 90's. Not so much anymore because it has become a retail thing, its original purpose almost forgotten. I still look for the unusual and this winter I was rewarded with this wonderful Lee uniform shirt emblazoned with the FEMA logo. I get lots of second looks but most people probably don't give it a second thought.
But then today this happened. It is one of those spring weather days, ou know, too cool in the morning and to warm in the PM if ou are overdressed. That was my issue this morning. I opted for this excellent all cotton Lee uniform shirt under a lightweight zipped hoodie. Then this afternoon when it got warm I peeled off the sweatshirt and was comfortable driving the bus in just the shirt.
What a hoot! The riders on the bus are a breed of their own in this town. There were three clients from the State Hospital who almost didn't get on because one of them was were sure that I was going to keep them prisoner. A woman from one of the assisted living places wanted to know if we (FEMA) were still renting trailers to those displaced b the tornado. (The tornado rolled through back in '98.) There was even one goofball who was sure that I was checking out the town for the eventual government seizure which is going to occur when Trump is elected. That's quite a collection we have riding our transit system. I suspect that they are only the tip of the iceberg. I think that tomorrow I will begin to manufacture tinfoil hats which I will take along the next time I break out the FEMA shirt. As a semi-retired bus driver I have no power, but when I put on the shirt...well, I may come looking for your guns.
