So, I just signed up (again) for a Transformer DietBet Challenge. What motivated me to pay out money and challenge myself to give my body back to goodness and health, you ask? Simple. I finally replaced the battery in my digital scale - after a 8 month hiatus (wedding day!) - and discovered that there WAS a good reason I have busted through 3 pair of pants in the last 2 months. I HAVE GAINED 15 pounds!!!!

Maybe that isn't as traumatic for you to read as it is for me to type, but you need a little more history to know where I'm coming from. I was that super athlete in school from grade school through high school that then fought the "freshman 15" AND the "sophomore something else" when I went through college. After graduating from college and working in a full-time, not-9-to-5 job I only gained 5 to 7 pounds for the next 7 to ten years. I went to gymns, picked up running, Taeboe'd, Zumba'd, Wii boxed and danced my way to regular fitness fun. Yes, fun. I ENJOYED moving and sweating and staying in my current-sized clothes.

Now, I have quickly become a Netflix-and-chill, maybe walk briskly once a week lady that has totally been letting herself binge of unhealthy foods and live a lardy lifestyle that has me looking at the mirror saying...who IS this lady?

I kept saying that I would get it together (every Friday) and start over (every Monday) by exercising regularly and making better eating choices. Then, I'd tear it all down again with no accountability or inner motivation to act differently to change. In the past, I'd always kept these fitness challenges and failures very private so that I don't get "caught" publically.

Well DietBet family, I am putting my money where my mouth has been and starting this blog to put it all out there in the web-isphere. Send funny stories, encouragements and tips for tasty, healthful food prep and reciipes. I welcome them all.
