Alrighty then.... I am back!

I am in three games. One game I have 21 days to complete b/c I joined late. This game will be my daily target game.  I need to lose 7 pounds basically in all three games. However in the short 3 week game, the math works out to needing to lose 5.33 ounces a day consistantly, in order to win.

The math goes like this:

I need to lose 7 pounds or 7 x 16 ounces = 112 ounces in 3 weeks or 21 days

112 ounces divided by 21 days is 5.33 ounces a day.

HOW?

Being a math person (with no real personality, except that I am ok with that. I really 'get' Sheldon!) I know that a pound of weight is the equivalent to 3500 calories.  Off or on, 3500 is a pound of weight. Either you eat 3500 more than you burn and you put weight on or you eat 3500 less than you burn and you take that off. So....

3500 calories a pound is the same as 218.75 calories an ounce. (218.75 * 16 = 3500)

I need to lose or burn off 5.33 ounces a day ... so that is....(5.33 x 218.75 = ) 1166 calories a day

Crap. That's a lot of calories. But I can do this! But that is a lot of excercise! I walk about a 20minute mile or 3 miles per hour (maybe... I am a slow walker) and that is only 90 calories a mile.  Ten miles would only be 900 calories!!!! WHAT!!!!!!!!!!

On the other hand they say (who is they?) that 80% of all weight loss is managing what we eat. OK ... I like to eat! How much can I eat??? According to a website (http://www.acaloriecounter.com/diet/calorie-maintenance-calculator-daily-calorie-requirements/) Body Weight (lbs) x an activity number = estiimated calories needed to maintain your body weight.... where activity number is 14 for seditary to 17 for really active.  I will use 15 because I walk everyday but I don't really do anything else but sit and walk.  This means my math for calories I can eat to maintain my big butt is: 175*15= 2625 less 1166 I need to not eat or burn off for a daily target total of...... 1459 calories a day!!!

Oh dear... check me out tomorrow to see what I came up with!.... 1459 calories a day.... I hate counting calories....!
