This is my second time at dietbet, I first tried db4 in February but did not put my heart 100% into it. I made excuses & fell short by 2 lbs. I was disappointed in myself with the loss and went right back to my old habits. Summer arrived and I re-gained the weight that I had lost plus added a few more pounds by not exercising regularly, going out to eat daily & not ordering the most healthiest items on the menu, having a cocktail or beer (or two) almost daily, nightly sugar-loaded desserts, going to sleep shortly after eating and then sleeping in way too late. I was often lazy, tired, overly stressed/anxious about stupid things. These habits were making me feel horrible and I wanted it to stop.
In mid-September, I started "pinning" on Pinterest and read a weight loss success story that caught my attention, journaling was one of the things that helped her so I decided to write in a journal and eat cleaner. Since the recent change, I've already noticed that I'm not stressed or tired. My clothes are feeling a bit easier to wear (not so tight) and I'm waking up early, ready to make the day count.
What's been working for me:
- Joining Pinterest- learning & finding tons of clean eating recipes (sweet potato brownies recipe is amazing btw), motivational Quotes & exercise tips.
- Daily journaling of my exercise activities and of what I'm eating.
- Using my Fitbit Force (I try to walk 10K+ steps daily) and Aria Scale.
- Replaced my sugary morning coffee with green tea.
Bonus:
- Drinking a lot more water = clear, hydrated looking skin
- My dog is getting her much needed exercise too - we like to go on walks together, rain or shine. She motivates me to go and will pout at me if we don't get our walk in.
- I get to try out new things in the kitchen and my boyfriend benefits from eating good healthy food now too -he is very happy that I want to get sexy for Halloween.
This time, I'm determined to succeed and to continue to eat/be healthy for the rest of my life.
Thanks for the extra motivation, Z & dietbet!
