I've learned a lot about my body from weighing myself daily. I don't do it to beat myself up over gaining, I do it to learn how my body metabolized the things I'm eating and the exercises I'm doing. For example, I learned that ANYTHING with soy sauce means an automatic two pound gain for about 36-48 hours - regular salt doesn't affect me that way, but soy sauce turns my body into a water receptacle. I've learned that walking with short bursts of jogging every few minutes is more productive for me than straight jogging. I've learned that drinking a full glass of water and a small healthy snack (half an apple, 1 cup of air popped popcorn) before bed seems to help me shed a few more ounces each day and keeps me from waking up feeling like I could eat everything in the refrigerator! Everyone's body is unique - I like that the scale has become a tool for me to understand how my body reacts to different things.
