Well I did it! I'm down more than 3% by the end of week two of the DietBet! I am very excited, as you can tell by all the exclamation marks, but I need to stay focused. In the past I would reward myself with a nice dinner out a sweet treat but I find that on Keto I don't even crave sweets anymore. Instead I daydream about the perfect bunless burger or a big juicy steak. I don't even pause by the candy bowl at work, in fact I couldn't even tell you what they filled it with this month. Instead I'm going to reward myself with new workout gear for my home gym and start incorporating exercise back into my life.
A NSV for me this week was getting my husband to not only enjoy, but help prepare yummy low carb dishes. So, while I can't control everything he puts in his mouth, he is almost sharing this WOE with me by default. He's loved everything I've cooked up. His favorite right now being the Keto Reuben Casserole, which he's had me make twice now in less than two weeks. Next up is a Cheeseburger casserole that he is super excited about.
Tonight, he's taking me out for that perfect bunless burger (Waygu..yum!!!) and I'll dilligently log it in MFP like a normal day. Afterwards, we're probably going to a movie and I'll bring my homemade zucchini chips or pork rinds and a bottle of water, but I probably won't eat them. I find that I'm rarely hungry anymore as my body adjusts to burning fat instead of carbs for fuel. I sleep better, my skin is better, I'm a happy camper. It almost feels like the weight loss is just a bonus.
2 weeks down, 23 to go and I'm excited to see what the future holds.
