Get Motivated and Staying Motivated is probably one thing that everyone has a problem with. I have a problem with it and when I know i feel like I am starting to quit I add something into the mix and mix it all about and do the hokey pokey and start all over again. HAHA.
Anyways... I have a few friends that congradulate me on my weighloss and they keep wanting to do what I am doing ( RUNNING, going to the gym etc ) but they just talk about it and don't do it . Come on people, you can't just say I want to start you actually have to get out there and do it whether its raining, snowing, sunshining etc. It frustrates me, maybe it shouldn't but it does when they ask me how I do it and I tell them what I have done including the diet bet which keeps me on my toes every month, but they don't want to make the changes. Running is free, gym memberships can be as low as $10 a month, biking is free, hiking is free if you go before the season opens, skating is free if you do it outside, running around with your kids is free, get up and do something about it. I don't mean to be an ass but why ask me what I am doing if you have no interest in it. Put down your electronics and get out there and do somethin.
Another thing I am told is "I don't know how you find the time" you know what that was an excuse I did last year, i kept saying i didnt have the time, i dont have the time etc. I don't have the time becuase I have to do this and this and this. I stopped saying I can't and things started happening and changing. I find the time, I do the time, I make the time, I get the job done be it 10 mins or 2 hours. I get up at 5am for work ,to come home after work to run the dog, take my son to karate or we go to the gym depending on the day , to come home make dinner and then since its been nice out we go out side before bed. I literally don't sit down again until 8pm every night to fall asleep by 9:30-10pm.
My suggestions to get motivated and stay motivated. Find something you love, I remember a few years ago I called my father crazy for running all the time. I told him no way I would ever do that as I hated running but since I got my dog Morgana to walk with I have enjoyed it , especially her at my side she keeps me feeling safe while I am on the road alone and keeps me going by pulling me on times I slow down. When you start getting bored with something step up your game or find something else to get you going. I am doing several different things to stay with my journey. One I continue to have races every other month, I tested out kickboxing and loved it so I am signing on for 8 weeks at the end of april. I also see a personal trainer 2x a week for a half hour which forces me to go to the gym then after our session I usually stay for another 1/2 to hour and 1/2 later. Also I have my father doing long runs with me on Sundays. If you find a motivation buddy they will also be a big help in your journey. Never back down, Never give up, Never get discouraged. Keep on going, you can do it and if you feel like you have failed Take a day break and jump back in again.
