  • A digital camera or smartphone

I'm trying to track my daily calories and workout at least 5 days a week. I'm also trying an intermittent fasting program. 8 hr eating window, 16 hrs fasting. Has anyone else done something like that? Does it really work?

Hi  ive been tracking my calories for years with Yazio and truly see a connection between being consistent there and loosing/keeping my weight. For a start it gives much insight on what you eat and how much you really eat (weigh everything in the beginning!). I can totally recommend it.

I also do 16:8 fasting on a regular basis which helps me reach my calorie goal easier, train myself in self control, makes me sleep better and feel healthier. I don't think it's for everyone especially if one has chronic illnesses etc but just give it a try. I love it

I'm currently doing Buchinger fasting (max 200cal a day, only liquids, no caffeine...). I plan to do it for 14 days to increase my self control and resilience as well as to incorporate new habits but that's a bit insane for some I think

To be honest with you, intermittent fasting has been the ONLY thing that has worked for me in a very long time for true a lasting weight loss. I switched to a low carb lifestyle almost 2 years ago, which has been a phenomenal choice; however, doing this alone simply keeps me from gaining weight. If I really want to lose weight, it is necessary for me to do intermittent fasting. I believe that it is because I have become insulin resistant. The low carb lifestyle is easy for me and definitely helps me feel empowered in my healthy lifestyle choices. I lost at minimum of 3lbs weekly for the 5 months I was doing a ketogenic diet in conjunction with intermittent fasting; however, once I got away from the intermittent fasting the first time, I found myself struggling psychologically to get back on track. That is one of the key reasons I sought out a solution & came across this (DietBet) platform. I have been better & am having some success now. Mine is generally a 16:8 also.
