How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone
  • A full-length mirror or someone to take your photo

Hello friends! I’ve been eating in a calorie deficit for about a month or so, I started to incorporate eating this way for 80/20. I’ve noticed though, that on the days I eat “whatever I want”, the next day the scale is significantly lower. Any insight as to why that might be? For example. I’ll weigh every morning before breakfast. I’ll weigh for example 180, eat in a calorie deficit for a few days, the scale reads that I dropped a few ounces. But then I have my “cheat” day, the next morning I’ll be down 2-4 pounds. What’s up with that? Any insight would be appreciated!

There could be a lot of reasons. You can try asking Ilana during the Q&A. I'm not doing 2B but I do follow a plan that doesn't require calorie counting and does incorporate a weekly cheat day. Sometimes if I don't do a real 'cheat' by significantly boosting my food intake and carb intake, I'll lose weight after my cheat day instead of putting on weight and find that my non-cheat days show a smaller loss because I didn't add the extra weight during cheat day. I feel, that regardless of the outcome, and as long as the general trend is in the positive direction, you'll be fine and just need to take sometime to experiment and find the right protocol.

Thank you all so much! This was really helpful. It totally makes sense about refueling.
