  • Went to dinner tonight with the hubby at Red Lobster but just kept the menu simple with lightly blackened salmon, steamed broccoli & a baked potato! Eating out is possible & don't be afraid to order food the way that will help you reach your goals! I usually ask for my toppings on the side also (examples: sour cream/butter for potato, cinnamon on side of sweet potato, or salad dressings so i can use half) so that I can control calories or I'll stick with a side salad as my go to side, but tonight was a potato kind of night! How do you hack the menu when ordering out?

I am active in a Fraternal org. where last week we had 2 pot lucks and a charity public pork roast supper. I am trying to overcome my toxic trait of people-pleasing. The club President is not going to go home sad because I did not eat a slice of her pecan pie! So my holistic hack is to fill the plate with garden salad, leave a tiny bit of space for 2 or 3 favorite dishes, taking enough for two bites of each, miss the dessert table altogether, and bring my own water so I don't drink the ZaRex.
