I've done some reading on creating habits, and I came across some interesting research that might be of interest to you. A doctor asked half of his hip replacement patients to write down all of the challenges they'd face after surgery/during recovery (pain, not wanting to get up and walk, being stuck at home, etc.), and then write down their plan for overcoming those things (routinely taking meds, setting an alarm to get up and walk at least a few steps every hour, getting the mail every day, etc.). The other half of his patients did not write anything down. The doctor found that those who had anticipated problems and decided in advance how to overcome them healed faster and had better long-term health outcomes than patients who had not. Basically, if you decide in advance how to handle a challenge, you will be more likely to overcome it. It seems like this is a strategy you might be able to employ to help you overcome obstacles and achieve your goals. Just a thought. Keep up the good work!
