  • Hello Everyone!! I was so excited when I saw the title of the group and I look forward to "meeting" you all. I just heard about DB a couple of days ago and liked the idea so much that I started my own Shake It Till You Make It challenge! (I'm an organizer at heart.) Sending everyone positive vibes and a prayer that we'll all meet our goals!

Natalia B.

Yikes! That picture is HUGE! Newbie here thinking I was adding my small profile shot. I'll pretend that it was intentional and that it was me sending you HUGE wonderful vibes. :)

Hey, I am in this group, but I also started a new Christian group and hoping it can grow and will be more active then this one. Please join. It is Christians getting healthy. :)

Well joining sure is easy enough. :) I noticed there is not much activity on here and I'm guessing the person that started the group is no longer on DietBet, as it was 2 years ago. But anyone can post. I noticed there are new members. Maybe introduce yourself and what game you are a part of? I'm 61 and had lost some weight earlier this year, then the motivation stopped along with the weight loss. This is my first DietBet. I joined "fatgirlfedup" summer comeback challenge. Final weigh-in is next Wednesday! I'm also joining her next one in September. It has been very motivating. I just thought it would be nice to have an avenue to share Biblical thoughts. So hello to everyone!

Come join Christians getting healthy...can’t have too many support groups :)

Are you still around Tia R.? I am in a game that ends next week (8/30/2017) and then will join another one in early September.

Hi guys. This is my first DietBet in about a year. I kinda just fell off the wagon and doing things my way. I've lost 47 so far and have about 40 more I want to lose before my birthday in August. I know God can deliver me from my food addiction if I trust Him enough to let Him work. Praying for my success this time around.

I'm not sure who is around anymore. Because the games are one month long, I imagine people rotate in and out, but thought I'd comment in case you are still here!

Hello all!
I am new to Diet Bet and I'm on day 2! I am looking for a group here in Diet Bet where I can get encouragement and support with scripture. There doesn't seem to be much activity in this group, but I hope to see more soon!

As I guzzle my last bottle of water for today (I am currently up to 60 ounces), I am reflecting on the following verse:

"What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?"
For ye are brought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's."
1 Corinthians 6:19-20

As I work to get healthier, I must remember that my body is not mine, but God's and I must treat it as such in order to honor Him. Aren't we usually more careful with things that we borrow than with our own possessions? So throughout the day, I need to ask myself: How do I care for His body? What do I feed His body? What do I need to do to ensure His body lives a long, fulfilling life?

It'll be a difficult journey, but with Christ, all things are possible!
:)

Hi Abby
Tips to help motivate you is start with 15 mins at a time in your home gym starting is always the hardest but once started you will keep going. Put a tv in the room so you can watch or play music that uplifts you. Mix it up by going for a 20 min walk first to warm up .. remind yourself that this is for you no one else. Read other weight loss successs and their journeys for inspiration

Re I scream just scoop into bowl and put rest back into freezer for another time. God bless

Hi ladies!

I'm glad to be here. I have horrible motivation to workout ( I even have a home gym and never use it!). I live alone, so not having accountability makes it hard to workout consistently and also make sure I don't eat that whole pint of Haagen-Daaz ice cream :).

Any tips out there for helping a non-motivated 26 year old become more motivated to exercise?

Hey there! Here are a couple tips:

1) do what you (most) WANT to do. Don't make yourself RUN if you feel like a lower impact workout today. Don't go to a CLASS if you feel like some alone time. Sometimes I just start with some core exercises (those are usually an easy sell if you don't feel like doing anything) and chances are, I'll end up doing more, but if not, SOMETHING is better than NOTHING.

2) Don't feel like you have to commit to a FULL HOUR. That seems intimidating (or sometimes - impossible!) Just get your shoes on and get into your gym and say, "I'll just do 10 minutes." (Again, chances are, you'll do more once you get there, but if not, 10 minutes is BETTER THAN NOTHING!)

3) I LOVE listening to podcasts and audiobooks - sometimes those keep me more distracted and focused than music. I will even extend a walk or workout if it's at a really good part!!

4) Put some pictures on your phone, mirror, and REFRIGERATOR (haha you live alone, right?) of YOU at your HEALTHIEST, BEST weight to remind you that you CAN do it!

5) Try something FUN and DIFFERENT that doesn't feel like a workout - shoot hoops, play tennis, take a dance class, work on a SKILL (I've been working on handstands), or search on INSTAGRAM for "glue exercises" or something specific and try some new moves! (I'm a trainer if you want to check mine out - @natalieblueblue - I tagged some of my exercise posts as #dietbetspringleaning if you want to search and check some out!)

xo,
Natalie

When I don't feel like working out, which is A LOT, I have found a 10 minute video on PopSugar fitness called Lazy Day Workout. It does the job :) It might work for you too.

Just joined my first DietBet today after a quite string of bingeing episodes. I'm hoping I can get my bingeing and weight under control. :)
