So the Hubby and I have been making green smoothies 2-3 times a day since Sunday and boy to I feel Amazing!!! I find that drinking my fruits and veggies is so much easier than trying to physically eat the same amount one bite at a time.

I can already feel the intensity of my sugar cravings subsiding. I am a HUGE SUGAR ADDICT! So any change is a positive one.

The only thing is, I have been supplementing 2 meals a day with the smoothies but, I find myself afraid to try and eat actual meals because I am feeling so good and doing so well. I feel like one bite of anything and I may revert right back to old ways. Trying to keep cool and move just one step at a time. I mean I can't change everything all at once.

The internal fights I have with myself about food can be overwhelming sometimes. But the goal is to take a deep breath, relax and know that I CAN do this.

Oh and here is what I like to put in my Green Smoothies, maybe you will too:

 

Kale (enough to lightly fill the entire blender)

16 oz of Water

- Blend these two together first (about 20 seconds) so the Kale doesn't make the smoothie too gritty

Add:

2 Apples (cored)

1 orange (peeled)

1 lemon (peeled)

1-2 stalks of celery

- Blend for about 20 seconds

Add:

A hand full or two of frozen mangos

-Blend until smooth

 

Now if you are feeling really daring you can add parsley (small amount) in with the Kale. This does make it a lot stronger and can be quite a shock to the system if you are not use to it. I personally don't like the taste with the parsley but the husband loves it. So to each his own.
