love this!! I don't like math but I have always found it so confusing that walking and running burns the same amount. Part of it is your body's efficiency. by the time you are "able" to run your body has become more efficient in burning calories. there is also a lot to be said about timing, breaking it up through out the day keeps that motor humming. if you are running you will probably do it all at once, compared to the "lap" method of walking. You are doing amazing, keep up the good work
