Hi everyone!
Hope ya'll are doing well. I returned from my camping trip on Saturday and was kind of disappointed to see that I didn't lose any weight despite hiking and walking over 10 miles throughout the course of the trip. Looking back on the trip, I was proud of my endurance and the exercise that I logged throughout the days, but the food is what killed me. Typical road trip: McDonald's breakfast stops along the way killed it. Although I must say that I did opt for the "healthy" egg white delight, which isn't too bad. We also hit up Starbucks a couple of times for the coffee fix (yes, this is 21st century camping at its finest).
All this being said, I was back on track Sunday and today and was very proud of what I accomplished. I've lost almost 3 pounds so far and I can tell that this is going to be my week. I happen to have some extra time on my hands so that means NO EXCUSES for not exercising. My goal is to lose about 2.5 pounds by Sunday, which leaves about 2.5 to go. I think I can do this. I've been drinking a ton of water and I think that's helping. I normally drink water a lot and carry a bottle everywhere, but I've been upping my intake even more.
HEY -- I thought of an idea last week to help all you people that don't jump up and down for exercise (like me). I thought I would share because it's kind of fun and motivating, and it takes hardly any time at all so it's great if you're constantly running around and on the go (like me). What I've been doing is every time I go to the restroom, I do 10 reps of some sort of exercise. It can be however simple or complicated you like, but I try to keep the exercise consistant throughout the day. For example, I've been doing squats lately. So each time I use the restroom, I wash my hands and then do my 10 squats. So, if I use the restroom 10 times in a day, that means I should have done 100 squats. This may sound weird to some of you but it's helping me, especially on the days I don't get in the quality workout that I want. And the squats add up! Plus, the more water I drink, the more restroom runs I make, and the more exercise I get!! I think tomorrow I'll do jumping jacks. Some more ideas are dumbell lifts or curls and wall squats. If you have a big bathroom and are comfortable getting down and dirty (hopefully your floor is clean), then you can maybe try push-ups or crunches.
Here's hoping everyone has a fun and successful week.
