Is it just me or did anyone else get up 6 times last night to use the bathroom? I'm chalking it up to the extra 5 glasses of water I drank yesterday, (my goal is 8, but I hate water). I also had 4 cups of coffee, several glasses of crystal light, BSN amino acid drink before, during and after my fasted workout, and iced tea, just because I like it.
I guess it was worth it because I'm already down a pound. Can that actually happen? Yes. Probably because I started out a little heavier than I should have been in the first place. I call that "Party Weight." It's what everyone does before they go on a seriuos diet. Some people might say, "It's my last supper," others will confess, "I won't be eating this (fill in the blank) for a while so I gotta eat the last bag, box, carton, square, etc. so that the temptation isn't around any longer."
Oh, goodness! Do we really try to trick our bodies into thinking that we can suffer through a month, or six months of a diet and THEN have those goodies? Has anyone ever been successful at that? No one I know. So instead of pretending I'll never eat that "Party Food" again, every time I feel the need to cheat, I'm going to look intently at that food, maybe hold it in my hand, face to face, and tell that M&M, or Ice Cream, or Pizza or CAKE that it has no control over me any more. I will win from now on. I will remind that food what it did to me in the past, how I felt when I failed and gave in to the temptaion, what it did to my body, and how I will not let that happen again. If that doesn't work, I'll remind myself that it'll be there tomorrow if I still want a bite. ;)
But today, I'm stronger!
