Is there any way in your lifestyle where you can add more steps? That way, you don't have to march intentionally; your goal would be reached automatically. Things I've done ever sine I got my fitness band: walked instead of driving my car, taken the stairs instead of the elevator/escalator.

I am parking in the farthest lot at work, and getting 1000 steps into my desk, and 1000 steps back to my car everyday. 1 or 2 walks down the hallway at work can add another 2000 steps in my day, in addition to the planned cardio or exercise for the day.
