I was so excited this morning. I feel great. I stepped on the scale, and im down 13 lbs! Anyone else doing intermittent fasting. I've been skipping breakfast and not eating after 7:30. It really helps!

How is Round 3 going for everyone?

I’m about 15lbs down and friends are starting to notice and ask what I’m doing differently.

What positive changes are you guys noticing?

Im slowing down a lot in progress. Im trying to eat more vegetables. Hoping that will help. Anyone have some favorite healthy meals that are very low calorie? I just made roasted fall vegetable soup. So good.

As frustrating as it is, progress slowing down is totally natural and normal! https://www.nm.org/healthbeat/healthy-tips/how-your-body-fights-weight-loss

Our bodies adapt to times of scarcity—it’s pretty amazing when you think about it in the larger context. It’s part of how our species survived famine and hardships long enough for us to be born! But it’s really frustrating when it feels like it’s pushing our goals further and further out.

I’ve lost weight before and each time it started quick and then the rate of loss slowed down. In the past my response was to be more restrictive, trying to get back to that faster rate of loss. But every time I did that, being too restrictive lead to eventual overindulging, stopping tracking, and gaining MORE weight than I’d lost.

I’d highly recommend the Half Size Me podcast. The host lost 170lbs, which took her several years, and she has maintained that loss for over a decade now! A good place to start is Episode 500 (you can jump to about 10 minutes in for the main content). https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/half-size-me/id502334416

To your actual question, the first recipe that came to mind is lighter lasagna by swapping zucchini/eggplant slabs for noodles (roast them a little before assembly so some water steams out). My favorite is to do half regular noodles, half vegetable noodles. I also trade out half the ricotta for cottage cheese. It’s still a dense, filling food, but lower calories overall than the full-fat, full-carb version. I also use lots of veggies in it (kale, mushrooms, broccoli, peppers, olives), and tempeh and Beyond hot Italian sausages for the protein.

What you’re doing has been working! Stick with it! You got this :)
