  • I made my Asian beef bowl with Konjac shirataki noodles that's 9 calories for the whole bowl of noodles. Ground beef, two eggs sunnyside up, green onions, kim chi, sesame oil, soy sauce, cracked pepper, and five spice to season.

So many of the diets I’ve tried are low carb high fat… they work for a while and then I end up gaining it all back. I’m trying a different approach and counting calories instead in hopes that I don’t completely deprive myself of things.

I’ve never counted calories or looked at serving sizes until last week and 😳😳😳 I’ve been eating probably 5-6000 calories a day and 5x the serving sizes for the last 4 years.

Here’s to new beginnings and goals of a complete lifestyle change

It’s crazy to see how much we can eat in a day and not realize! I also just grab this and that and some of that and before you know it all my little snacks have added up to a meal or more! I’ve been more successful tracking and also focusing on macros. You got this!!

Emilie T.

You’ve got this! I think it’s very helpful to track your calories without adjusting your normal intake for the first week just so you have the knowledge of what your diet usually looks like. It’s much easier to adjust when you know for a fact what your baseline is. It can obviously be shocking, but you took the first step! Great job!

Do we still submit a final weigh in if we didn’t meet our goal?

Your choice, when I don’t reach my goal I just don’t submit

Julia W.

Same, I don't bother. They'll send you some reminders but just ignore them

  • This scale is testing me. I am trying so hard. My son had a full day competition out of town yesterday. I brought my regular breakfast in the car, packed my regular lunch and ate that while everyone had pizza, hot dogs, and snacks. We ordered Dominoes for the family when we got home and I had my veggie hot dogs. Lost 2 OUNCES.

Normally, I'm all for any losses, but the loses have been small all week and I have 7 ounces left to lose. I had 7 cardio workouts and 3 strength. I doubled up 2 days. Anyway...I should've lost 5lbs watching my family eat pizza and not having any! 😆 lol

Sometimes it’s ridiculous how slow the journey is. Hang in there and don’t give up! That’s what I’m trying to do!

AlohaLisa

It’s a way of life so dont sweat the ounces. And keep going for your goal. You’ll get there

  • Proud of myself for finishing a tough race this past Saturday! However, I had to snack here and there as being on a calorie deficit and the blazing sun was making me feel like I had no energy. Got it done and improved from last year so I’m really grateful. Losing weight helped me get past the finish line for sure!

Frustrated that I stayed in track yesterday with my same Sunday meal plan and worked out, but had a weight gain today. Most likely water weight from super sore muscles, but 2.9lbs now left to lose this week and frustrated. Grrrr...

Ya most likely water weight

AJ

Stick with it, the water will disappear and the strong muscles will burn calories

So last week I did 4 strength workouts,
walked every day for at least 30mins, walked in total just over 125.000 steps and was in a deficit every day ( smaller than I liked but still a deficit) despite having my period…
I know it probably is still retained water or whatever but it’s so annoying that the scale is against one or just all over the place while you really try so hard… 😖 I really despise those moments…
I know it’s a part of the journey but still is bloody annoying that the weight is even higher than beginning of the last week…

Sorry about my rant…

Same, but I keep going, stick to my plan and trust that eventually it will come off. I also have to celebrate the wins like how much better I feel eating healthy and how my pants are a little looser. Keep at it and it’ll come off!!

tido

Great job!
