  • My godmother, so sweet, steamed vegetables and made white rice for me. I don't usually have white rice but she made it taste so beautifully that I didn't mind it. She boiled it with half an onion onion and a few cloves of garlic, and she added a small bunch of fresh dill and fresh parsley. The flavor was light and lifting. I share it because I hadn't ever had white rice with herbs, and this turned me on to it. Are there any special blends of spices or herbs you enjoy with your rice?

Someone noticed I have lost weight. They said, "You have that ozempic look." I didn't know if that was a compliment or a jab but I obviously look different. I guess going plant-based whole foods has the same effect as medication (?) Then they followed with, "You're starting to look tired." Ummm... Seems like somebody's insecurities and reactivity are triggered by another's success. I just laughed it off and said, "Great. Thanks!"

Becoming vegan is a good resource from Brenda Davis. Very comprehensive nutrition primer. Fiber fueled is a good one on gut health. By Will Bulciewicz. I look for recipes online but I also have some books at home. Engine Rip Esselstyn Engine 2 diet is good and Chef AJ has a few books and a YouTube channel full of information. I like Simon Hill also. He has a YouTube and a book. I think there’s a free pdf on his website too.

¿ What YouTube workout channels do you like and use often ?

I need a bigger library for when my motivation is low to non-existent. 2025 is for focusing on consistent INTENTIONAL weekly workouts, with no more than 2 day breaks in-between.

I went to a post-funeral gathering (I don't know what you call it in English). The deceased's widow made a plate of food and said, "Please eat." I couldn't deny her. I ate everything she served, some things which included things that trigger my digestive system. Consequently, I am now dealing with a horrible digestive flare up. I need to do a liquid diet to decrease the inflammation. It's only temporary.
DocMadeMeDoIt accepted the challenge.

How's it going for you? It's been four days since I returned from a 2-week work trip. I gained three pounds above my initial weigh-in while away from home. Ugh, I am not surprised but its frustrating. Thankfully, I believe tomorrow I will weigh-in at my starting weight. Then I will have 15 days to lose 7 lbs to meet my goal this month. I can do it. Being home makes it so much easier to succeed.

I had the same issue post-Thanksgiving travel. I think a lot of it was water retention and I’m hoping today’s weight will be back to “normal”. But lots of work moving forward!
