I have lost 15 pounds so far through diet only, which goes to show how awful my eating habits were 😅 I’ve worked on portion control, not eating after dinner, and only drinking water. I should be really proud of those 15 pounds but that little voice in the back of my head says I could have lost more, which I definitely could have! In fact in past diets I have lost significantly more. The problem is that wasn’t sustainable. With what I’m doing now I’m not withholding any foods from myself, I’m just lessening the amount which will be way more sustainable in the long run. This month I’ll be working on a mental goal by trying to tell that little voice that slow and steady wins the race 🐢

I’m not making my weight this round. In fact, this morning I weighed more than I did at the end of the first round. That’s disappointing and a bit discouraging, but clearly I haven’t REALLY been putting the work in. If it was easy to lose weight, I wouldn’t join a bet to push myself to do it. I’ve put a reasonable plan into place and I’m committing to it. I’m determined to win the remaining rounds.

So I won’t be reaching my round 2 goal and that’s okay. I’m sure there are others in this group in the same situation. Just wanted to let you know you’re not alone. I have made progress since this bet started and I’m proud of myself for that. I even made a little progress this month, just not enough to reach my goal for this round. Instead I’m focusing on the months ahead and trying not to give up just because I missed one round. I’m focusing on being consistent and sticking to it even when things are moving slower than I’d like.

Thanks for this! It’s looking like I won’t make this round, but I’m still pushing through! February was such a weird month weight-wise and I think I’ve plateaued a bit. Not giving up, just refocusing :blush:

I signed up for Kickstarter 3 weeks ago that I thought I had no chance in winning. I signed up a week late so I had to loose 4% in 3 weeks. On top of that I had just come off a big week of weigh loss so I expected my progress to slow. I focused up and won. Now the pressure is off for all my other games.

  • Just wanted to share this transformation pic with you all. This is a time span of 7 weeks. I'm really proud of myself for how far I've come. But I am just getting started! 💪????💓

    Editing to add what has been working for me: I have been doing the FASTer Way to Fat Loss program. It's intermittent fasting, counting macros, working out daily (30 min), getting 8-10k steps, drinking a ton of water and cutting out starchy carbs and sugar. But the main thing that's different for me is my mindset has completely changed. I am now looking at this as a. Lifestyle change rather than a way to get skinny. I just want to be strong and healthy.

I've got some hard work to put in, to finish February out. For those that need to hear to this, don't give up. Keep pushing yourself. This week I'm working on general meal planning for the family. I'm hoping this will reduce the typical fast food weekly trips. Tonight I'm making chicken and rice soup, tomorrow hamburger helper (my son's fav) and I bought a frozen pizza as a dinner back up for this week. Anyone else struggling with eating at home?

Out of curiosity, what's an hamburger helper? I hear about it on socials and I guess maybe some sort of seasoning?

Francy, hamburger helper is a box meal that you add ground meat to. There are several different kinds, so the box might contain dry pasta and seasoning, and you add water and cooked ground meat.

Shout out to fellow parents doing this challenge!
Anyone have kid friendly low carb high protein recipes?
Having kids adds more stress, takes away from sleep, makes it harder to plan, and they come up with ways to make it hard to stick to a diet! My 4 elementary school age kids made 4 bowls of various textures of microwave brownies (thanks hubby for teaching them those are a thing 😂). Yesterday was my cheat day but other than a few tweaks I was amazed at how close to my usual routine I was sticking to... Until I finished off all the brownies

Try egg drop soup with high protein bone broth! That’s my go to on cold days and it’s very simple to make and absolutely delicious!
