I managed to reach my goal weight (by the smallest smidgen) but this is always where I sabotage myself and *celebrate* thereby gaining back enough that I wonder if I’ll make the cut. I’m confessing it here and sharing my plan in hopes that things will be different this time. So I will not celebrate today, I will press on. And I will carefully choose how to *celebrate* if I qualify - not with food (I’m not a dog) but with something that builds up who I actually am (regardless of the number on the scale)

I've been there! A fun new accessory is how you should celebrate - cute necklace, purse.

Jeenyus- Yahoo! Congrats on achieving your goal! I love Shasta's celebration suggestions! Or how about a mani/pedi or a facial? I like to indulge in these fun self-care ideas at local beauty schools :) And remember- you worked hard to get to your goal - you DESERVE this victory! You got this!

For the start of the week I’m trying to ease into it. I switched to drinking only water (after my morning coffee). I’ve stopped eating snacks between meals *except* if I’m truly hungry (honouring my body cues). And lastly I’ve incorporated a second vegetable into our meals. It’s already made a significant difference!

That’s a great plan

I am a firm believer in all the benefits of drinking enough water! Great swap for sure! And adding a second vegetable... that's a brilliant idea! Happy to hear these small changes are adding up ;)

  • Hello Hello and Happy Monday!
I want to congratulate everyone for taking that first step, which is often the most difficult, in making the commitment to live a healthier lifestyle. And now that you’re here, let’s figure out what you need to do to make these changes
    1. not so overwhelming,
    2. achievable and sustainable, and most importantly,
    3. fun!

First, please take a moment to say hi to your fellow players and tell us a little bit about you! Are you new to DietBet and have questions or are you a seasoned player who loves to encourage others and help answer those newbie questions? What’s one realistic, targeted change you will work on these next four weeks (like “I will increase my step goal to 10,000 a day” vs. “I will walk more”)?
Also, what are some tools I can provide to help you achieve your goals? Would you like ideas on how to prioritize protein and/or prep healthy meals or maybe you need ways to shift your mindset? Are you curious about counting macros but don't know where to begin? Or maybe you would love some suggestions for fun ways to be more active?  Let us know - We want to hear from you!

Hi everyone , i started diet bet 3 years ago and this is my 10th game i believe. It really motivates me .
I started weight training last week and my goal is to keep going , I know how important it is to keep muscle mass as we age ( I am 40 ) and I wanted to start a couple of years ago and I never come around it . Hopefully I will stick to it

Hi Yalda- glad you're here! You're exactly right about the importance of building and maintaining muscle mass as we age! I'd love to hear more about your weight training!
