Unfortunately, my daughter's school had a school shooting this last week and I just got back from up there. A lot of comfort and a lot of food. I'm not going to make this diet bet but I wish you all the best.

I could use some motivation. Had some emergency dental work done and a couple days of comfort eating. I'll take any motivation to get back on track. I was only 2 lbs away. Even just a few photos of dogs would brighten my day. 😊

Thank you so much. I just got back from Tallahassee. A very stressful time for FSU. Thankfully my daughter is okay but it was a very stressful day. There was a bit of comfort eating. Tomorrow I start afresh and I'm going to try my best to do this. Thank you all for the dog photos because they have so cheered me up.

Wondering who’s playing? Has anyone played dietbet before and lost weight? Any tips or advice to share? Any advice on playing a kickstarter versus a transformer? Thanks!

Yes, I have had some success before. I haven’t done a transformer as I prefer to do kickstarters. For me the short term goals/accountability are really helpful for staying focused. I like to do overlapping kickstarters to keep the momentum going. While I haven’t reached an ultimate goal”goal” weight, I am a big believer that any improvement is great & it certainly beats staying stagnant or worse, gaining.

Get enough sleep: Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep per night. I struggle with this, but on days that I sleep at least 7 hours, I feel better and more energized to crush my goals. Good luck with this challenge!

Happy Wednesday!

Exercise is an important aspect of staying healthy! The saying "use it or lose it" is very true and every little bit counts! What are you up to today? Can you do anything different to add extra activity to your day (park farther away, take the stairs instead of the elevator, etc.)?

I did a 2 miler on the dreadmill and am just about to start some light yoga/stretching. Feel free to share your accountability posts.

I started doing agility workouts. Right now working on speed, hip strength and mobility. It’s fun to have goals to work towards that have nothing to do with weight loss. :)

I ran 10 miles today but that means tomorrow will be a lighter day. I still want to make sure I get out and walk tomorrow
 maybe 2 miles? Putting it here to help hold me accountable. :relaxed:

  • Anybody else just losing by counting calories?

    I lost 20 lbs last year just by making sure my daily calories were at least 500 to 700 below my calories burned on my Fitbit. Was super skeptical that it would work but it did. ❀

    Before the holidays, my doctor asked me not to lose weight while I was going through some medical testing and everything is fine but with the holidays and travels that have been ongoing, my weight's creeping up again (about five lbs gained since September) and I don't want it to so getting back to journaling my food each day on Lose It. I expect to to lose at least a few pounds of water weight and then work on about a pound a week, maybe a little more depending on the water weight lost. I think doing a diet bet will help me get back into the habit again.

    Anybody else not really dieting but just journaling food and counting calories?

Counting calories has been my go to. Right now I'm trying to focus on eating more fruits and veggies to help keep me full throughout the day.

I love that others are not really dieting as well. I have a long history of diets and since I'm still doing this, I finally figured out by it just don't doesnt work for me. I am having a lot more success just journaling my food. I look forward to seeing how we all do.
