Progress slow and steady, but I have noticed that my jeans are fitting better, so I think that even if the numbers aren’t changing as fast as I’d like, the weight lifting must be changing my composition a little bit.

Yesterday: core focused pilates
Today: upper body
Tomorrow: some kind of low intensity cardio - swim? Incline walk? Tbd.

Starting to get harder. I am at my overall initial goal weight, but I am focusing on changing body composition so rethinking my goal weight. I'm in a challenge where they do a body scan, and supposedly I have another thirty pounds of fat to lose. I will continue strength training to gain the muscle and offset fat loss to reach weigh in goals.

    2 eggs cut I to 4 slices
    Carrots
    Coffee with coconut milk

    Need Whole30 breakfast ideas. I love eggs and egg whites in many forms. Scrambled, casserole, boiled, etc...
    But I want toast, a small pancake with a fruit bowl on the side, oatmeal, and cram of wheat.

    Which aside from the fruit bowl are not on plan this month.

Tell me about the coffee with coconut milk! How does it taste? How many calories does it add up to? Do you add any sweetener, or does the coconut milk do that? Thanks!

I just use the so delicious one 6-8oz (45cal for 8oz) and the rest coffee.
It helps in that it doesn't taste as black. Sometimes, I'll add 1-2 tbsp of non-dairy creamer.
It all depends on the day. But when we are not out of so delicious, I use it.

Yesterday was spaghetti night (that is code for a hard day). My wife made double. Pasta is a trigger food for me. I finished the day at a 500 calorie surplus, where a normal day is a 500 calorie deficit. One of my daughters turned 6 this weekend too, cake! Yum! I'm still averaging at about a 350 calorie deficit per day for the past week, but the scale is up 2 lbs today. I worked pretty had to lose that last 2 lbs, how dare it come back in one day. What makes it worse is I was 2 lbs away from my next goal of an overweight BMI. Oh well, now it's 4 lbs. The complexities of weight lost science are lost on me, even with this little bump in the road I have lost 14.4 lbs since this game started and I intend to keep doing what I have been doing and one day I will be overweight!

I too LOVE pasta! I have really started to love Baanza (sp?). It’s a chickpea pasta that actually has a texture very like regular pasta. It tastes great too! It’s not low carb but it’s definitely healthier carbs that regular pasta. I eat it when I really have a pasta craving and it’s super satisfying! Even my skinny husband that has no weight issues ever (damn him!) likes it.

Been a rocky week as hosted my mum who wanted to go out for a tasting menu for her birthday (no choice over food) followed by hosting friends for burns night dinner (boozy!). I tried to balance it all out and keep up with exercise, which I broadly have done, remaining stable on the weight. Back on the train this week and down we go!

Also wanted to reflect - have decided that I should max my intake of Diet Coke at 1 can a day, and in a month I might decrease again to every other day or just weekends or meals out or something. I don’t think it’s actively hindering weight loss, but it can’t be good for my gut microbiome to have more.
