That means we're into Round 3! Keep yourself accountable by weighing in unofficially or by submitting progress weigh-ins through Membership. To reward players for consistency each Wednesday we’ll randomly reward an exciting progress prize to one or more players who submitted a Progress weigh-in during the 7 days leading up to the drawing. The next drawing is on Jun 27.. Any official weigh-in’s submitted within the 7-day Progress weigh-in window will automatically apply as the weeks Progress weigh-in. I don't think you HAVE to except for round 5 for you to qualify for the 6th round. You can still do your weigh-in so at least you have your official progress, though.

Question: if I don’t make my Round 2 goal, do the goals for subsequent rounds get adjusted, or stay the same?

I was put on a two-week course of prednisone for a painful condition in my ear; anyone who’s ever taken it or a similar glucocorticoid knows it wreaks havoc (stimulates appetite, interferes with sleep, causes water retention) and I am no exception. I won’t be able to make my Round 2 goal; I’m guessing I’ll have to step it up for subsequent rounds.

You’re just taking care of your health in areas other than weight loss right now. So important, but I understand how it would be frustrating to have one interfere with the other. Stay the course and I hope you feel better soon! This challenge is a marathon.it’s okay to encounter bumps in the road. :)

That's right. You will still have the same weight goals. You have to achieve at least 6% by the end of round 5 to qualify for the final round because of that. You could always sign up for a kickstarter while you are up, and it'll help push you with the bigger percentage you'll need to lose to keep up with the transformer. At least the percentages for the transformer are smaller as we go, so I'm sure you'll be able to get caught up.

Just a tip for those of you traveling over the summer, beware of water weight. Obviously you all know not to go bonkers on junk food and to stay active at your destination, but it's extremely important to stay hydrated and move often during travel. Especially if your travel is very close to weigh-in time, get up and move around as frequently as possible. Sitting in a car or plane for hours at a time will decrease circulation and cause you to bloat a bit. It'll come off quickly if it happens (couple days usually), but more movement during the travel period will help it not be a problem should you need to do a weigh-in shortly after.

The simple answer is yes, but there is a chance your weight will vary from scale to scale. Depending on what type of traveling you are doing, perhaps you could pack your scale? That sounds strange, but for challenge purposes both my mom and I are taking ours with us when visiting relatives, but we are driving to our destinations.

Yeah the scale doesn't have to be the same for verification purposes, but if the calibration is different it could be a problem. If it reads lower, not such a bad thing, but if it reads higher that's gonna suck. I second the idea to bring your scale if you can.

Which do you prefer: cardio or strength?

For me I get better results from strength training, but I got so out of shape that I struggle to get started sometimes and end up just doing cardio because it's "easier." I do enjoy a good pump after a weight training session, though.

Define "cardio". If we are taking a walk or jog outside vs lifting weights I would choose walking/jogging. If we are taking elliptical vs weights, then it's weights 100%.

So good and bad happened today. Bad is that I nearly screwed up my weigh-in. Good is that without thinking, I woke up, chugged about 16 ounces of water, took my dog out, and drank another 8-10 ounces of water to take my supplements all before panic set in when I remembered I was supposed to do my weigh-in lol. Good habits taking over, but note to self: have alarms set for next month

For anyone who didn't, you CAN do this! Never take not meeting your goal as a failure. When you treat it instead as if you are learning, then you've learned a path that doesn't work for you. Also High Fives! Change gears and try something else! You've got this!
