Great post! Weight loss certainly is a journey - I am glad you are on a good path and learning what works for you! Congratulations on your weight loss to date - wishing you the best going forward. And I think you have nice feet ;-).

Ashley

I'm so happy you're getting back into it. I am personally in the same boat. And I have a lot of photos of feet to show the journey, too ;-)I was down 100 pounds at one point...but now I'm back up 20 pounds. I'm so disappointed in myself, but I know that this is something I'll always have to be mindful of. I'm working to get back to where I know I can be!!Let's do this!!! :-D

That *is* life -- picking yourself up, brushing yourself off, and starting from where you are at that moment (not looking back). Thanks for this blog post -- and the very thoughtful "Daily Victories (or Kinda Sappy Motivation)". I needed to hear that message! All the best to you!

Life certainly does happen. It gets in the way of our goals, but the important thing is that you're realizing that you need to make a change, and you're back to accomplish those goals. I'm cheering for you every step of the way! No quitting -- you WILL make it to your goal! Let's do this, Heath!

So very very true!! I've been in a funk the past couple months where I started to look at the defeats and losses more than the small wins. Taking the time to focus on the positive really makes a difference in how I feel and how motivated I am to continue. I have perfectionist tendencies so having one "defeat" makes me want to throw out the whole day. But, I've been working on it and like you said, if I count every single small victory and focus on those, it adds up and helps to drown out the negativity.

Hi Heath,I think it's great that you're willing to be so transparent on your blog. Reading your struggles has helped me realize we all have 'stuff' to work through - and this is a great place to meet friends and encourage one another. I'm brand new to DietBet, and very excited to lose some serious weight. I know there will be many highs and lows on this journey - as you've shared. I do want to say, hang in there and keep your head up! I know, for me, losing my person was a huge setback and how I gained a lot of my weight (I lost my husband to cancer 8 years ago), but now I see that it's up to me to fix me. I pray a lot and I am working on trusting myself and being good to myself. You can do this. We can do this. Onward we go!Cathy

I know how you feel for sure. Emotions can really get in the way of progress. And believe me, I am and have been in very similar shoes as you. Staying mentally tough can be hard. What I can recommend is that you focus as much as you can on what you can do as opposed to what you can't do and what you can't control. That way, focusing on what you can do and can control will take you a lot further and in the long run help raise self-esteem and confidence. Also continuing to find good support systems and postive people on the same path as you will help you thru it as well. Keep your head up.

" I've never weighed more or felt as unhealthy as I did at the start of the year." I swear I said the very same thing about myself at the start of the year. For me, it's the wake-up call I needed to do something because I could not feel like that for one more day. Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work. All the little changes you're making will really add-up and will help to keep you motivated (and I look forward to reading about them!).

Since I started this effort on Feb 1 today (the 10th) has been the first really tough day. Its a frustrating day at work, I'm tired, I'm hungry, I'm stressed, I don't feel like working out, I haven't had a mt dew in 10 days but really want one this afternoon. And then I logged on and saw that you guys read my blog and commented, then I went and checked out your pages and now I'm inspired all over again. Thank you!
