'Where does the rest, the $5100 go?' -- To Dietbet. Their cut is 10-25%. They need to pay their employees, costs of server and running a company, etc. Cost to play is usually transparent in their FAQ.

I reached my goal, .9 below. This is wonderful, and I promise I am not ungrateful, but...My goal is to lose 10 pounds a month, to equal 30, and bring me down to 200! I will try, but also am grateful for this loss, and will be completely happy if it ends with this weight, either way. Good luck everyone, last week push!

Thank you both! I understand, Keith, when I started at 370, I had to lose 14 to 15 lbs. Not every month is a 10 lb month. What matters is we are working on being healthy. We have already won.

My Dietbet membership commenced in November 2018, although my participation lapsed for over two years. My initial weight was 261.2 pounds, and at my last participation in August 2022, it was 221 pounds. My current weight is 178.2 pounds, with a target weight of 150 pounds, which I aim to achieve by summer. I am rejoining to maintain accountability, as the financial incentive strongly motivates me to achieve this goal. Good luck to all.
