Frustrated with myself. I made poor choices over last weekend and it carried into my week. I'm now above my initial weigh-in.
The successful previous week, I had done a lot of food prep on Sunday, and that helped to have what I needed after a stressful day of work.
I don't want to give up on this challenge.

Don't give up, Molly! There's still time! I find that meditation can help when I'm having trouble being mindful about the decisions I'm making. It can help set the tone for your whole day! Just take it one day, even one meal at a time. You've got this!

Starlight

You know what works, so you know how to get back on track. Maybe you just need an emergency backup plan for times you can’t do food prep.

Yesterday was a HUGE challenge. Car troubles. Ex-boyfriend/friend issues (friend is ex's sister). Doctors appointment troubles. Just a list of very BAD. At 7PM, I realized I had not drank or ate ANYTHING the entire day nor had I used the bathroom. Nothing in, Nothing out, I guess. Today, was a much better day. Maybe a little of overcorrection from yesterday but I will ABSOLUTELY take it. How does everyone deal with stress as cortisol is a real problem for me???

I'm sorry you had such a bad day, Paula. I hope things turn around soon! There is some great advice here already - this is why I love the DietBet community! As Vee and Lisa mentioned, practicing mindfulness and having healthy snacks/water on hand are such helpful tips. I have found that daily meditation really helps me handle stress better. It doesn't have to be anything crazy, you can even just start with a few minutes each day :)

Starlight

Meditation makes a big difference for me. I used to do it 30 minutes per day every morning, and it helped me cope with real situations, and it reduced the constant worry in my head. During this Diet Bet I have started doing 30 minutes a day again.

Always trying to make better choices. I wanted a cupcake but had a banana. Very creamy and delicious. Good swap❤

I’m trying to do that. I frequently crave chocolate desserts, but I bought a mango this week because I know it will be just as sweet, but healthier.

Good job, Lisa!

This past weekend I wore a size 14 jeans. This time last year I was in a tight 20. It has not been fast and it has not been easy but it has been so simple. It truly is just making a commitment everyday but with the stress of the holidays coming I'm so scared of back sliding.

Eat the Thanksgiving food, but cut your normal portions in half! Also, sometimes I think to myself, “will I be proud of myself the next day?”. It’s all about your mindset and thinking before doing. It’s hard but it gets easier!

Lauren P.

Also, one day of overeating will not destroy your progress!

I ended up with a stomach bug over the weekend (thank you daycare) so I’m almost at my goal weight. I know after being sick and dehydrated weight always goes back up, so I’m hoping it doesn’t increase too crazy over the few days as I can finally keep food and fluids down! I bought some electrolytes, vitamin b, c and d to try to keep any more illnesses at bay.

  • Happy Monday!

Can you believe we are in Week 2 already? How are you doing so far?

Now is a good time to check in with yourself. Is your plan working? If so, that's awesome, keep it up! If your plan not working or you are lacking motivation, take a moment today to change course, you've got this! Remember why you started and visualize where you want to be three weeks from now!

Thank you, Sarah B. The encouragement is uplifting.
We must believe in ourselves to stay strong :muscle:

I know taking baby steps is the way to go, but sometimes it’s hard. I want to rush in to healthy eating and lots of exercise but then I burn out so quickly. Hoping to keep the small changes going.

“The hardest exercise is pushing your plate away.” I only had 2 bites left but I was full. Guys, I threw food away and I feel so guilty! But that’s not a healthy mindset and I am determined to do better.

Way to go! I try to use a salad plate if it’s a “scoopable” meal. It helps satisfy the mind but still is eating less, then you can save leftovers (in the cooking pot) for lunch

Molly M.

I completely relate to all of your comments. I made a pot of cauliflower veggie soup last week. It was a 4 serving recipe that became 6 servings because I got so full and put my bowl in the fridge. I'm just beginning to listen to when my stomach is full. It's going to take more practice. Cheers to continued efforts

Hi all! Hope everyone is staying motivated!! I drove past home (my son and husband were home)
To the gym. 😩 I feel guilty and awful not coming straight home but then I remember I have to do this for me, for my health. Have a great weekend
