Are there any maintenance games after you reach your final goal?

Are you sure they still do maintenance games, Aj? I can't find any in the list of available games. I would love one too!

Aj S.

I just looked. They look like they’re members only. :(
There was one starting in Dec 18 but that one is still in the middle of this current game. Ill be on the lookout more in Dec.

I am hitting a plateau for weight loss.
Any recommendations?

Good question. I seem to be journeying on a plateau as well. I have to weigh out on what I call the "grace" morning because it's not happening this morning. And perhaps not tomorrow morning.

Thank you all for the tips.. they helped! I broke through and made weight this morning! I increased water a lot and walked more. Still working on the sleep part

Two out of 6 months down! 4 more to go! I feel these future months are going to be the hardest for me. I'm so glad to have dietbet to help me keep to my goals. Good luck everybody for this next round! Halloween and autumn is my favorite and also weakness including all the treats and comfort food. Anyone have any advice to replace bad holiday eating habits? Just not doing it is of course is the option but any additional advice would be appreciated.

For the holidays, I plan enjoy around my ‘treats.’ So if I know I want a special cake or pie, I put that treat in my food log before anything else. That way I go in know how much I want, how much it cost (approximate caloric value), and appreciate the treat as a treat and not a food staple. There is always tomorrow for a treat. If I want more than one treat, I ask myself do I really want both now? If I do, I will but if I do not really want both, I have something to look forward to in the future. =]

I try to get extra disciplined on the normal days so that when I want the treats or comfort foods, I can have them. I love them just like you! Also if I do eat something that’s higher calorie, I will average it out with the rest of my day. I can’t do this every day and see results but I can usually sneak in a few without detailing my progress. Also, since the weather is pleasant, I up my walking and try to move a lot more. My step goal helps a ton. Enjoy your fall!!!

Hooray, I've done it. Last week was hard so, but lots of exercise and staying in calorie deficit helped. Wishing you good luck for the next round!
I definitely need to start working hard now 💪

Can someone help me fully understand…
We paid $40 for round 1 & then “won” $22.29…
Did I just lose $17.71?

I had the same question, Crystal, and contacted support for clarification. Haha. I guess I made an unrealized investment.

Man, I'm struggling to find my motivation!

I completely understand that. I am not sure what type of motivation you are going through but I can share what has been a big hurdle for me. I think what has helped me most is snack and hydration prepared. Whenever I know I will be out for an unknown amount of time, I bring with me two easy shelf stable snacks (I like mini apples, chia seed to go pouches, or occasionally a jerky stick.) That way I have choice when I am out and can temporarily tame the hangry when its peaking.

I feel ya! What helps me stay motivated is exploring new things such as learning to cook whole foods. For some odd reason I find joy in going on a adventure to the grocery store and review the produce aisle lol. I cut out all ultra processed foods. If I didn't cook it, I ain't eating. Also, if it's not straight up water I'm not drinking it. I also download the Yuka App to scan barcodes at the stores so it can tell me what additives are in the food.

Don’t know if this is a stupid question but what is a “progress weigh-in”? It doesn’t count against us for anything right?

Oh, awesome! Thanks Aj!!!

Referee Audrey R.

Jacqueline, Aj is correct! The progress weigh ins are a perk of DietBet membership that enter you into the weekly progress prize drawings. They don't count against you and can help you stay on track.

Feeling like I’m plateauing in weight, which is annoying because I have been keeping up with food tracking, exercising, and making better choices in general. I think I will prioritize sleep and be more diligent with drinking fluids to help my body want to drop weight.

Those are all good approaches

But have you looked at your foodtracking to see if what used to be an amount which would create a calorie deficit due to your body previously being bigger and thus burning more calories than now is now an amount which correspondings to neither a calorie deficit nor a calorie surplus?

If you've already lost a lot of weight over long time, that might be it. I know it happened to me back in 2019 when I finally reached below 70kg (curse Covid and me having eating as a comfort and coping mechanism) and I needed to reach 68,7 to win my transformer bet which I refused to lose by stumbling at the finish line

Aj S.

Thank you all for your supportive feedback.
