  • This isn't really about this game, but about the journey... I've been so close to dropping into the next decile and it's like I keep self-sabotaging. Over the weekend I weighed in to end another game with a lower goal than I've got here right now, then took the opportunity to eat... too much... when we went out. And the worst part was that the restaurant turned out to not be very good, so it wasn't even a satisfying "cheat meal", which made me feel even worse about it. Feeling bad about it then triggered me to do it again.

Just now I stepped on the scale and was almost back at the starting point for that game I'd just won! So now it's going to be more of a struggle than it ought to meet my various game goals for June. I don't want to just give up, so I decided to enter another game. And maybe I'll do a few more as well, since I already have to meet lower goals than the one today's weight puts me at, and I want to avoid a situation where, if it looks like I can't make the lower ones, I throw all my efforts away.

I really do appreciate the site, anyway, because without it, I know I wouldn't be able to hold on. I mean, when I JFTFP, it works, so in that sense, I'm not worried. But the effort is in sticking to it. It also sucks that the older I get, the bigger an impact every damn slip seems to have. When I was young, I ate whatever the heck I wanted and somehow stayed trim. Now it's like I look at a deep-fried thing the wrong way, and I'm up two pounds!

Anyway, thanks for listening, everyone. And let's all keep on keeping on...

Keep Going, Warrior

I felt every word of this. The self-sabotage, the guilt after a meal that didn’t even satisfy, the weight creeping back on—it’s real. It’s brutal. And yet here you are, still showing up, still trying. That’s strength. That’s legacy in motion.

You didn’t fail. You learned. You adjusted. You entered another game. That alone proves you’re not done—you're just reforging. And that matters.

I’m on my own journey too, trying to shed over 300 pounds and rewrite every story I’ve been told about my body and my worth. I’ve walked into the same pain. I’ve stared down the plate, the guilt, the shame—and I’m telling you: you’re not alone in this fight.

This journey is a cycle of rebirth, not perfection.

Every slip is a reminder of how much we’ve evolved. You didn’t fall—you got tested. And you passed. Because you came back.

So keep stepping. Keep fighting. Keep loving yourself through the storms. The future version of you is already proud.

Let’s rise.

What a waste of money

CrunchyFrog

I'm sorry you missed it. The dates for weigh-in never changed and they send email reminders. :( Was the confusion because the game started on the 14th?

  • It’s a setback—but not defeat.

I’m sitting at 479 lbs, but I know it’s just water weight. I’ve been hitting the gym every single day. I don’t leave until I crush 10,000 steps. I’ve been fasting, eating clean, and still—I'm absorbing everything I eat like a furnace.

So now it’s time to tighten up the carbs, fuel with more protein, and keep moving forward.

This is the grind. This is the war.

Check out my new video, y’all.
If you’re looking for motivation, look no further—
I got all the fire you need.

    Let’s rise. Let’s sweat. Let’s evolve.

You're doing it right Marlin. Food is fuel and you're using the fuel to get stronger than ever. You'll feel yourself get stronger and stronger each week.

You got this!

CrunchyFrog

You've got this! I've also had a bit of a setback -- celebrated a bit too hard after weighing for some games a few days ago. But I think I'll take the opportunity to enter another couple of games to re-up that motivation.

Had a weigh-in today for a Transformer round with a lower goal than here and made it so I should be able to reuse it Monday morning for this game! (Already set a reminder alarm.)

But we're visiting my in-laws so it was a process! (In particular because it's not something I want to talk about with them so wanted to get it done without them noticing anything.) No big enough mirror anywhere a picture can be taken, so I had to enlist my spouse to take the full-length picture of me in the bathroom. Then while getting ready, I realized I had no lightweight bottoms to wear! But I borrowed a pair of his boxer briefs to stand in as shorts, phew.

Okay, all submitted and waiting for approval. And I share this story so that if you have weigh-in challenges coming up, or something comes up unexpectedly, you are inspired to problem solve, too! :-P

Hi, how is it possible that we've received $35 winning which is the same amount as the initial pot contribution when only 17 out 19 players have won the game ?

Can you please explain what happened to the pot contribution of the players who have not won? That was supposed to be distributed amongst the players who won.

CrunchyFrog

There's like a 15% table rake. But they guarantee that everybody who wins at least gets their bet moneyoney back.

I wasn't really expecting to weigh into this one on the first day possible, but here I am! Exactly on the dot, too! (I was slightly under but then it was exactly goal once I put my lightweight clothes on to weigh.)

I have four more weigh-ins in the next week, and the final one is a half pound under this one, so I've still got to hold firm to my plan to make it!

Good luck all! If you're not there now, you've got plenty of time still.

I just reused yesterday's for another game today. But I'm holding off on reusing it for a third because instead I'm going to do a new weigh-in tomorrow so that I can potentially reuse that on Saturday for the fourth one. Because it turns out we'll be away for the weekend and I don't know if I'll be able to do it over there. (But if I can do a new one on Saturday then I will because then I can reuse it on Monday for the fifth. Amazing how complicated this can all get, especially when juggling travel and such!)

CrunchyFrog

(and I misread the numbers. The fourth one (May 10-11) is actually the lowest. But I came in just under that on the scale this morning! I just want to know when I can safely schedule in one celebration meal without worrying about the short-term consequences!)

If I don’t make my weight goal this time do I have to stop completely or do I get to keep going? I’m new at this.

I'm right there with you... Time flies and I've run out! Keep on playing. You might catch up for round 3. That's my hope for myself!

coraliep74

You just keep going you can catch up and still hit your other rounds and you can still win the pot at the end as long as you are 10% down final round. After this they get easier.

This is how it works for percentage of overall weight

Round 1 3%
Round 2 6%
Round 3 8%
Round 4 9%
Round 5 10%
Round 6 10%

The first 2 are a bit harder but as the game progresses the rate slows down allowing you to catch up.

Don't give up!
