87% of the way to 4%. I’m so excited it seems easier having this forum and my WW diabetes forum to keep me motivated and on track. Thank you all

I am sick for the third day in a row with cold symptoms and my weight on the scale has risen. Could it be the high-sodium soups I’ve been eating in the evening? Could it be the sodium in the Robitussin I’ve been taking at night? Could it be that I’m consuming more calories because of my diminished capacity to count my calories and my uptick in drinking milk and juice? I feel so frustrated that my body is telling me to lie down when I want to move to burn calories. How do you guys keep on track when you’re sick?

Decrease the sodium and drink plenty of water and other healthy fluids get the rest like your body is telling you.

Drink all the low calorie fluids you can and rest, the scale went up for me while I was sick (still recovering) but as soon as I felt a little better and could start moving again and went back to my planned diet the scale went right back down

This is my first DietBet. How often do we weigh in?

Required. 1 at the beginning and 1 at the end. You can do updates whenever you want but those aren’t logged with photos.

Welcome to the DB fam!!
As others mentioned required weigh-ins are at beginning and end. I like to weigh-in weekly at least on the app to stay on track but at home I weigh myself daily. I am still figuring out how certain foods affect me. But once I know I probably won’t do it as much. Best of luck you got this!:muscle:

Feeling good! My goal was 8,000 steps and I’m sitting at 8,451 right now. I tried tracking calories today and yesterday but just felt very bleh to me. I have done that in the past and had success but I hate the constant brain time it takes to think about it and plug it in. I’m going to see what just being mindful with my food and movement does, if the scale isn’t budging with that I plan to track for the rest of the game. Anyone have suggestions for diet without calorie tracking? Hope you all had a great day!

I've never been successful counting calories either. I echo what others have said - high protein, low carb is the easiest way to stay satiated without overeating.

I'd suggest finding your triggers and finding alternatives (e.g. no wine at night - substitute with some ginger tea or something fun like Kombucha). Intermittent fasting is also fantastic at limiting your total caloric intake.

If snacking is your failure point, find healthy, high protein snacks that are "allowed" (e.g. hard-boiled eggs, turkey + cheese rollups, handful of almonds).

I, also, hate plugging in the calories of everything you put in your mouth.
